Café 580 is a new dining services amenity in an office complex in Tarrytown, NY. With workers increasingly coming back to the office, building owners are improving the amenities within their buildings to retain existing and attract new tenants.
Scully Construction was engaged to update the food preparation and service areas of the cafeteria to make the experience more convenient for tenants. Refrigerated displays with prepared foods and self-checkout, new cooking appliances and fixtures, light construction to better utilize the space for workflow, new millwork, lighting — essentially a complete overhaul of the cafeteria.
Given the age of the previous cafeteria, we encountered several challenges unknown at the outset. New grease piping and traps were needed, improved ventilation in the kitchen was required, and modifications to existing plumbing for the new refrigeration equipment were all additions to the original work.

The result was a modernized cafeteria that provides all-day service to the building tenants and tenants from other building nearby. The cafeteria also has an adjacent conference room that tenants can use for breakfast, lunch, or catered meetings.
